Unlike its closest competitor, Bose, Sennheiser is all about the sound and the ear's ability to hear that
sound. While Bose claims to block out nearly all background noise, the Sennheiser PXC-250 Active Noise Canceling
Headphones only claim to reduce the noise levels by 50%. The headphones work with or without the noise reduction
unit turned on. The Sennheiser PXC-250 Active Noise Canceling Headphones require two AAA batteries placed in a pack
on the earphone line. This exterior noise reducing unit decreases the weight of the headphones on the ears.
Background noise sits at about 500 Hz and lower. The Sennheiser PXC-250 Active Noise Canceling Headphones reduce
that specific noise by 15db, which means about 50% to the human ear. The noises in the background will still be
there, but when music is played, there will be little sound left aside from the track.
The Sennheiser PXC-250 Active Noise Canceling Headphones are foldable and easily stored for use anywhere.
According to Sennheiser, the Sennheiser PXC-250 Active Noise Canceling Headphones are best used in libraries and
public places.

Customers love the Sennheiser PXC-250 Active Noise Canceling Headphones. The most common appreciation offered by
customers was regarding the price. The Sennheiser PXC-250 Active Noise Canceling Headphones are priced about 1/2
the cost of the nearest Bose competitor and even as low as 1/4 the cost in some cases. While customers who have
used both agree that the Sennheiser PXC-250 Active Noise Canceling Headphones do not cancel as much noise as the
comparable Bose model, the difference in price is well worth the bit of extra noise.
Customers also loved the comfort of the headphones and the external design of the noise cancellation unit. There
were a couple of complaints, however regarding the wire length and the lack of volume control on the noise
cancellation unit. The wire length seems to be better suited for wearing the noise cancellation unit on the belt.
If the unit is placed anywhere farther away than that, the cord will inhibit movement of the neck. The noise
cancellation unit also fails to have a volume control unit and music plays at one solid volume when the unit is
turned on.
Tips for Usage
According to users, the Sennheiser PXC-250 Active Noise Canceling Headphones are best suited for use when
sitting on a plane, train or as a passenger in an automobile. The earphones are very lightweight, but need to be
placed directly over the ear hole in order to get the most out of the noise cancelling technology.
